Annual and Out of Town Match Results

Cowford Regulators hosted their annual shoot the weekend before Thanksgiving. It was a great shoot despite the cool temperatures. All that attended had a great time.  We got to ride in an ore cart while shooting targets  and wondered our way through a cow herd on a horse.

You can preview the match scores along with pictures at

Cowford Regulators Website

Congratulations

Badlands Drifter - Match Winner along with Oakley Mouse  - Top Lady

Okeehobee Marshals had their Top Gun Shoot December 11-12.  Okeechobee shoot in Indiantown. They have a very active club and a great group of members.  They recently had a work day in which 25 - yes 25  - people showed up to work. Many of their shooters make it a point to go to as many of the Florida Clubs annual matches as possible.

The Top Gun Match proved to be a wonderful match.

Badlands Drifter was Match Winner

Again - if you have never gone away to a match - you are really missing a lot of fun, excitement and an excellent opportunity to meet cowboys and cowgirls friends.  I find it amazing that at an away match you never meet a stranger.  Give it a try, you might get hooked.

Well, people can you believe it, we are looking at 2009 right in the eye. This past year has brought many changes in the town of Swampwater. With changes comes new people and new ideas. We are truly Blessed to have such fun loving and dedicated folks to make it all happen. A big tip of the hat to all the Cowboys  and Cowgirls that come out and make every shoot so enjoyable . I too believe as the wise Colonel Dan once said “ It’s the people and the friendships that matter, Shooting is just a bonus “.

This coming year brings new steal and new props for all to enjoy. There is word of new age base classes . Should prove interesting for the Hot Guns. We have hopes of getting more room for our Score Keeper ( She deserves it ). In short time , we should have all new Shotgun targets and pull ups for the town. And like always , we are willing to listen and try something new.

As I sit here and look back at the last ten years, we have seen many changes in SASS and in the sport itself. The town of Swampwater was just a dream and one that  came true. There has been far too many Good Cowboys move on to higher ground and we have seen so many new people joining this Cowboy Family. We have seen the numbers go over 80000 strong. I have seen times on the clock that just blew my hat back. O yes , we are seeing New Guns become Top Guns very quick. These are things that keep what we do so refreshing and our quest  to out shoot the guy in the mirror. It seems that guy is getting a little slower. Well, speaking for myself. We should all do what we  can to help keep this thing called Cowboy Action Shooting alive and preserving a part of history.

So from the town of Swampwater, myself and all the Committee members wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I got to go, its time for another Cowboy Shoot. See ya down the trail.

FOR THE LADIES

Have you ever wondered "is their a better way"? I ran across Pearl and Penelope at a shoot several years ago.  Since then they have developed an item of clothing I thought was rather unique and would like to pass the info on.

"""""""Fast Action Bloomers"""""""

Pearl and Penelope's Bloomer Emporium

...is the brainchild of two Lady Cowboy Action shooters from North Carolina, Penelope Petticoat and Pearl.  Both gals enjoy shooting, but they love getting dressed up in period clothing just as much.  They noted that there was a distinct shortage of cute historically accurate underpinnings for the lady shooter.  Specifically, period correct bloomers.  If you have ever tried to use the necessary (port-a-potty) wearing a skirt with a gun belt over top, you will know what we are referring to.  So Penelope coined the phrase "fast action" bloomers.  This refers to how fast you can get in and out of the necessary.  You are going to have to use your imagination for this. No description necessary as this is a family website.  If you still need an explanation, talk to Sassy next time you see her.

Pearl and Penelope designed their bloomers to be seen on the outside, (closed action bloomers), or to remain hidden under your frock (fast action).  They use only quilt grade 100% cotton, pre-shrunk fabric for their bloomers and have an assortment of colors, patterns and sizes (let us choose color for you, as we can never guarantee what patterns we will have available.)   White is also available.  Each bloomer is hand made and embellished with ribbon and lace to make a pretty appearance.  The waists are fully adjustable with tie cords.  The legs are adjustable with tie ribbons.  Sizes are generous.  Small fits up to size 10.  Medium fits up to size 16, and Large to a 22.  X-large is available as well by special order.  Matching bloomers and camisoles are available. Both are priced at $40 each.

Next time you are in the market for bloomers and/or camisoles, give them a call or email them.   They can be reached at P&Pbloomers@aol.com .  Some vendors are also carrying their products.
